Affiliate Program Terms

These Affiliate Program Terms (“Terms”) govern participation in the SkillBoss Affiliate Program (the “Program”). By enrolling — including by copying and sharing your affiliate link from skillboss.co/console — you (“Affiliate”, “you”) agree to these Terms in addition to the SkillBoss Terms of Service.

1. Overview

SkillBoss pays 15% of the first-year paid spend made by any new customer who signs up through your affiliate link. The Program is designed to reward affiliates who genuinely recommend SkillBoss to audiences that benefit from a single multi-provider AI gateway.

2. How It Works

Grab your affiliate link from the Affiliate card in your console, share it wherever you’re allowed to (see Section 6 for prohibited tactics), and earn commission on the paid spend of any customer who signs up through your link. You can check your accrued balance, outstanding balance, and share URL at any time from the same card, or via the authenticated /api/affiliates endpoint.

3. Commission Rate & Attribution Window

Commission. SkillBoss pays 15% of the first-year paid spend made by any new customer who signs up through your affiliate link. “Paid spend” means net revenue recognized by SkillBoss (excluding taxes, fees, chargebacks, refunds, and promotional credits) during the first 365 days after the referred customer’s initial paid transaction. Free credits, promotional balances, and internal transfers do not generate commission.

Attribution window. The attribution window is 365 days from the click. If a visitor clicks your affiliate link and then signs up and makes a paid purchase within 365 days, that customer is attributed to you. Last-click attribution applies: if a user clicks multiple affiliate links, the most recent click wins. Attribution is tracked via UTM parameters and a first-party cookie scoped to skillboss.co.

4. Minimum Payout & Payout Method (v0.1)

Minimum payout. The minimum payout is $50 USD. Balances below $50 roll over to the next payout cycle.

Payout method (v0.1). For version 0.1 of the Program, payouts are processed manually via email. When your outstanding balance exceeds $50, contact support@skillboss.co with your affiliate code and preferred payout destination (bank transfer, PayPal, or USDC). Payouts are reviewed and sent within 10 business days of a valid request. Automated payouts will be introduced in a future version; these Terms will be updated accordingly.

5. FTC Disclosure Requirements

You must clearly and conspicuously disclose your affiliate relationship with SkillBoss whenever you promote the Program, in accordance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s Endorsement Guides (16 CFR Part 255). Disclosures must be:

• Clear and unavoidable — placed where a reasonable person will see them before engaging with the endorsement (not buried in footers, comments, or “more” sections).
• In plain language — for example: “I’m a SkillBoss affiliate and earn a commission if you sign up through this link.”
• Present in every medium — blog posts, tweets, videos, podcasts, Discord messages, newsletters, and AI-generated content all require disclosure.

Failure to disclose is both a violation of these Terms and potentially a violation of federal law. You are solely responsible for your compliance.

6. Prohibited Tactics

The following tactics will result in immediate forfeiture of unpaid commissions and termination from the Program:

• Spam of any kind (unsolicited email, DMs, comment spam, forum spam).
• Paid advertising on SkillBoss-branded keywords, including “SkillBoss”, “skillboss.co”, misspellings, and trademark bidding on Google Ads, Bing, or any other ad network.
• Cookie stuffing, forced clicks, hidden iframes, or any technique that drops the affiliate cookie without a genuine user click.
• Self-referrals — referring your own account or accounts you control.
• Fraudulent sign-ups, including fake accounts, stolen payment methods, or incentivized traffic that does not represent a real customer.
• Misrepresentation of SkillBoss pricing, features, or policies.
• Use of SkillBoss trademarks in a way that implies official endorsement, employment, or partnership beyond the affiliate relationship.

7. Refunds and Chargebacks (Clawback)

Commissions are subject to clawback. If a referred customer receives a refund or issues a chargeback within 30 days of the qualifying transaction, the corresponding commission is reversed and deducted from your accrued balance. Chargebacks older than 30 days will still be reviewed and may be clawed back if the underlying transaction was fraudulent. SkillBoss’s determination of eligibility is final.

8. Taxes

You are solely responsible for all taxes on commissions you receive, including income tax, self-employment tax, VAT/GST, and any reporting obligations in your jurisdiction. SkillBoss may require a W-9 (U.S. affiliates) or W-8BEN (non-U.S. affiliates) before processing payouts and may issue a 1099-NEC where required by law. SkillBoss does not provide tax advice.

9. Termination

Either party may terminate participation in the Program at any time, for any reason, with or without notice. Upon termination, any commissions earned in compliance with these Terms through the termination date will be paid out subject to the $50 minimum and the clawback provisions in Section 7. Commissions earned through prohibited tactics (Section 6) are forfeited. SkillBoss reserves the right to modify or discontinue the Program at any time.
